Company Profile
Bethel Community Education
Company Overview
Bethel Community Education is an intentionally different school that serves preschool through 8th grade learners. We meet each learner where they are at academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually within a collaborative, multi-age environment.
At Bethel, our first priority is discipleship. Learners are rooted in Christ as they grow in their understanding of God’s love, their identity in Him, and what it means to live out their faith in community. Spiritual formation is woven into daily rhythms, relationships, and real-life application.
Next, we focus on life skills. Learners develop ownership, resilience, communication, problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking as they engage in hands-on, real-world learning experiences. They are encouraged to grow in curiosity, ask meaningful questions, and navigate challenges as learning opportunities.
Academics follow next, which is purposeful and intentional, through Individualized Growth Plans in partnership with our learners and families.
Company History
Bethel Community Education began with a simple but bold vision: create an intentionally different, Christ-centered learning community where learners are known deeply, discipled faithfully, and supported to grow academically in a way that fits who they are.
In the fall of 2019, Bethel launched at Camp Roger in Rockford, Michigan with just 7 learners. From the beginning, the program was rooted in relationship, individualized growth, and a shared commitment to build a collaborative community where learners could belong and thrive.
By the second year, demand and momentum had grown quickly. Bethel expanded to 15 learners, fully maxing out the rental space at Camp Roger. That season confirmed what families were already seeing: there was a real need for a model of education that prioritized discipleship, life skills, and meaningful learning, not just a one-size-fits-all approach.
In the fall of 2021, Bethel took a major step forward by moving into its permanent location, a transition that allowed the school to triple in size. With more space and greater capacity, Bethel was able to grow its programs and experiences while staying true to its mission - empowering learners to use their God-given talents to join in Christ's work.
